1st Team Squad Profiles
Dane (Daneo) Palmer (22) - Goalkeeper - regular 1st team 'keeper for the past 4 seasons, came up through the Cranleigh Youth system having spent some of his youth football with Millwall. The saying 'you have to be a bit mad to be a goalkeeer' fits Dane perfectly on and off the pitch! Chelsea fan.
Paul (Skittle) Inwood (24) - Right Back - made his debut aged 16 in The Combined Counties League and has played every season since. Has developed into an overlapping full back who topped the goal assists table for the club last season and ended up as the player of the year. Blackburn Rovers season ticket holder with a growing pride of lions tattoos.
Ben (Horno) Horne (23) - Right / Left Back - New Club Captain and Social Secretary, Ben has been a regular for the past 4 seasons and very capably filled in at left back last season despite it not being his favourite position. Ever optimistic character, but then he does support Fulham!
Matt (Butch, Roo) Butcher (35) - Center Back - Cranleigh's longest serving player, by some distance, coming up to 18 years and still going strong. Former 1st team captain who last season scored 2 rare but memorable goals to win us the game v Burymead. Matt supports West Ham.
Marc (Cobbler) Cobby (23) - Center Back (who thinks he is a midfielder) - comfortable on the ball and good in the air (albeit yet to score from an attacking corner). Marc has been the rock in defence over the past few seasons. A West Ham fan like his long time defensive partner Butch.
Luke (Ram) Palmer (24) - Midfield - Very talented player who can play in a variety of positions (including in goal). Eldest of the 3 Palmer brothers, who also had a spell at Millwall. A welcome return to Cranleigh this season after spells at Horsham YMCA and Storrington. Another sensible Chelsea fan.
Dean (Deano) Goddard (23) - Utility - son of former Cranleigh 'keeper Mick, Dean has played several positions for Cranleigh since breaking into the 1st team as a teenager. A model player for any manager to have, his only fault is that he supports Liverpool!
Luke (Luca) Zatwardnicki (18) - Midfield - youngest of another set of 3 brothers at the club. Broke into the 1st team last season at 17 and looks set for a permanent place for years to come. A free kick specialist with a very good football brain for a young player. Supports Portsmouth along with Dad Kim and brothers Maz & Ben.
Tom (Puttsy) Puttock (20) - Center Back - two footed ball winning defender that reads the game well. A very accomplished player who signed for the club this season having slipped through the net 3 years ago. Looks set to be a permanent fixture. One of the growing number of Spurs supporters within the club.
Pete (Pedro) Hallett (29) - Striker - a proven goalscorer who has played on and off for Cranleigh & Ewhurst over the past few seasons. Rejoined Cranleigh last season after a period out through injury and scored the winner away to....Ewhurst! Following a good pre-season more goals are expected this term, albeit currently out injured. Another Spurs supporter.
Greg (Reggie, Forrest) Palmer (20) - Striker - youngest of the Palmer clan and one of the few left footers in the club. Joined the senior club towards the end of last season having been with Three Bridges and Storrington after having had a long spell at Millwall with Dennis Wise, should be a Chelsea fan but follows the red half of Liverpool. Currently playing for Aberavan Athletic FC whilst at University in Glamorgan.
Jonathan (Jonno) Ewart-Davis (28) - Striker - in his 3rd season with the club, Jonno actually managed to be 1st and 2nd team top goalscorer last season, including a perfect hat trick for the 1st X1. Last season's Players Player of the Year. Usually builds up his playing time each week to a peak of 90 mins around February! Supports Man Utd.
Dane ('Ammo) Hammond - (25) - Centre Back / Midfield - nephew and son-in-law respectively of Cranleigh legends Chris Hammond and Peter Slater, quiet man of the team and another player who seems to have been around a long time and like Pedro has been between Cranleigh and Ewhurst.
Sam (Horno) Horne - (23) - Striker / Midfield - twin brother of Ben who has been scoring for both 1st & 2nd teams over the past 3-4 seasons. A Chelsea fan so obviously the smarter of the twins!
Mark (Chicken) Thomas (25) - Midfield / Striker - another of the squad who has experience of our Combined Counties Days. Missed most of last season through a knee ligamant injury that required an operation. Claims to be in the army at Sandhurst but never seems to go anywhere. Supports Man Utd.
Dan (Sparky) Sparkes (24) - Midfield - long serving player, Mr Dependable in midfield with 2 good feet. Just back from a long term back injury hopefully fixed by a course of injections. Blinkered Spurs fan.
Ben (Smiffy) Smith (22) - Striker - hard working front man that no defence looks forward to playing against. Looking to increase his strike rate this season to match his work ethic.
Chris (Chump) Hughes (23) - Goalkeeper - shared the 2nd team goalkeeping duties last season but this year is the #2 'keeper in his own right. Another Cranleigh Youth product and one of the best trainers in the club.
Mark (Parso) Parsons (23) - Midfield - very skilful player equally comfortable with either foot, loves a Hollywood pass. Manager of Chelsea Ladies reserve team, which limits his time to train and play at Cranleigh but is looking to be more available this season. A Chelsea fan of course.
James (Pie Man) Andrews (19) - Defender - young player who quickly broke into the 1st team last season. Can play anywhere across the back four. Another of the Spurs contingent.
Simon (Bezza) Berry (24) - Midfield - currently recovering from a knee ligament operation following an injury sustained in the 2nd game of last season. Another Cranleigh Youth product who had a spell at Horsham, son of Cranleigh legend Chris, now back in training and looks set to play again by the beginning of March.
Jim (Jimbo) Emery (25) - Centre Back - 2nd team stalwart of the past few seasons, Mr consistency now firmly established as a first team player. Cranleigh Youth product and Arsenal supporter.
Marek (Maz) Zatwardnicki (23) - Center Back - after his early days playing in midfield Maz has settled into center back, reads the game very well and formed a good partnership with Jim Emery last season. Another Pompey fan.
Curtis (Curt) Beecroft (23) - Striker - returning this season from a short spell at Loxwood last year. A talented player with a strong shot capable of scoring many more goals than his past record shows. Chelsea through and through.
Craig (Diso) Disley (23) - Striker - lightning fast front man with an eye for goal, top scorer 2 seasons ago with 22 goals. Badly missed last year whilst away travelling. Looking to get back amongst the goals again having also recovered from a broken ankle whilst away. Nicest lad in the squad.

He signed professional forms with Crystal Palace in 1992. He played for Palace until 1995 when he joined Millwall where he stayed until 1999 when he left for Reading. He moved to Brentford in 2005.
